During the first part of the session, Maria Gonzalez Cerveron will give an
overview of different funding schemes available, and of the evaluation
process when applying for ERC grants, in order to better understand the
application process. This will be complemented by testimonies of ERC
grantees Stefanie Petermichl (CoG) and Ana Caraiani (StG).

the issues with the current system that lead to the current situation
regarding gender balance. This includes a debate of the challenging work
required to change the attitudes in the mathematics community about
what mathematical success looks like and who is capable of it.
