„Coping with pain: Exploring the health and physical activity patterns
of working women “
Snježana Schuster
University of Applied Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy, Zagreb, Croatia
In recent years, scientific interest has focused on the effects of health and physical
activity on various types of pain and pain conditions in populations. There is a wide
research scope that encompasses the understanding of pain accepted as an integral
component of aging or specific physiological circumstances such as pregnancy and
childbirth. Due to the impact of different types of pain on the reproductive health of
working women, health habits and levels of physical activity are analyzed, particular-
ly in relation to chronic pain conditions. The results indicate the importance of qual-
ity physical activity and maintaining healthy habits for the prevention and reduction
of painful conditions and states. Are we moving in the right direction with research?
How much can research provide and be useful guidance for improving preventive and
combined health programs as well as in policies that should support the well-being of
working women?
