Observing mathematics teaching in terms of learning outcomes and compe-
tences acquired by students through mathematical education implies ‘touch-
ing’ upon other educational fields and life context given that students use
mathematical knowledge to explain and understand the world around them,
and solve current problems arising from different scientific disciplines. All
changes in the real environment, in the natural and social surroundings of
students, can be explained using mathematical laws. These natural cross-
curricular flows give numerous opportunities in the realization of science
teaching, primarily mathematics and biology. The Fibonacci rabbit problem
i.e. obtaining its sequence and the value of the golden ratio, reflects the func-
tioning of nature according to mathematical rules in the best way. The way in
which a large number of plants grow their trees fully corresponds to the breed-
ing diagram of Fibonacci rabbits. The number of petals on a flower is usually
3, 5, 13 . . . . The best example of a golden ratio in nature is the Nautilus shell,
whose growth factor is approximately equal to the coefficient of the golden
ratio.

Introduction
High quality teaching at all levels of education implies the realization of cur-
riculum contents with maximum motivation, activation and less burden for
the students, which results in the achievement of goals and learning out-
comes. This means that a great deal of teaching content is shared with stu-
