children start differentiating between languages verbally and exploring the
ways in which they associate a particular language with the speaker of that
language. To this purpose, children who participated in the research were ex-
posed to two foreign language situations created by two researchers in two
languages (English and Italian), each repeated four times. The results of the re-
search suggest that even short-term exposures may have a positive impact on
the children’s perception of different languages and the distinctions between.
