psiholog v dilemi: etične vsebine in etična zavest v praksi

success. Understanding the biology of human morality could
contribute to the synergy of our innate capabilities and social
incentives for virtuous and compassionate actions of individuals
                 and communities.

Ethical Content in the Work of a Psychologist in Education
                 Abstract
The fundamental task of the school counselling service in
educational institutions (EI) is, based on its special expertise, to
include itself in the complex solution of pedagogical, psychological
and social issues of educational work in kindergartens and
schools. The psychologist cooperates with all participants (pupils,
teachers, parents, school management) and often with external
institutions (e.g. police, social work centre, hospital). In their work,
the psychologist is often faced with demanding, highly complex,
emotionally intense and/or unpredictable situations involving
individuals with a variety of different problems and hardships,
capabilities, values, views on the solutions, interests and needs
and other characteristics. These situations also always require the
psychologist to think ethically and behave appropriately, which is
by no means easy, but is often accompanied by ethical dilemmas,
open questions, concerns and the subtle awareness that the centre
of the psychologist’s work is the care of one of the most vulnerable
populations: children and adolescents. How to help them as much
as possible, support them, create a trusting relationship with them,
while carefully considering their rapidly changing developmental
characteristics and developmental tasks, how to promote their
autonomy, and at the same time be aware that, according to the
law, they are minors? In the present paper, the authors show several
ethical dilemmas that psychologists in EI encounter in relation
to various participants within EI and in the context of inter-
institutional cooperation, offer reflections, highlight examples of
good practices and also dilemmas, and encourage a high ethical
stance in the everyday work of psychologists in EI.
