In order to connect university teaching to real life, and to provide professional
assistance to the local community during the epidemic, students of the third
year of the Study Program of Preschool Education at the Faculty of Philoso-
phy, University of Banja Luka (BIH) were given the task of writing therapeu-
tic fairy tales. A qualitative micro-study with interpretative approach, with 27
participants, was implemented. The aim of the study, which used an interview
with structured questions, was to examine effectiveness of inter-subject link-
ing through student introspection. The analysis of the answers reveals that
students perceive this approach to be more complex, but also more effective
and creative in achieving competences, and the following categories are dis-
tinguished: initial discomfort due to a new approach to teaching, connection
of emphatic processes and motivation, agency and acting in the community
as an essential competence, self-therapeutic processes.

Introduction
The university education of future preschool teachers, even today, mainly
is based on the fragmentation of scientific fields, where especially specific
methodics are singled out. The phenomenon of segmentation and division
of methodical fields in preschool education into separate units, as a set of
unrelated university courses (Kosnik and Beck 2009), does not reflect the
contemporary needs of the educational process and the implementation of
preschool programs based on the ideas of open education, complete and
