The employees of the department are both pedagogically and research-oriented,
especially in the area along the border. Our subjects and research interests offer the
contents of multiculturalism, language in contact, Istrian, and border literature in
general, but without neglecting the all-Slovenian and international comparative per-
spective. With this, we want to consciously weave cultural ties in the border area
between Trieste, Koper, and the whole of Istria.
