Research Teaching and Experiential Learning by Microscopic Students
in the Context of Cross-Curricular Teacher Collaboration
The purpose of modern teaching is to equip students with quality knowledge
that can be used to solve many open problems in new and unpredictable situ-
ations. In order to achieve this goal is very important that teacher has compe-
tence to organize research lessons and experiential learning. It’s also important
that teacher is ready for cross-curricular integration. We conducted a quantita-
tive and qualitative research. In the quantitative research we were interested
in how teachers evaluate the possibilities of using the microscope and to what
extent they know the microscopes. The research has shown, that microscopy is
an opportunity for research-based teaching and experiential learning, where
cross-curricular teacher collaboration is very important. According to teachers,
professionally thoughtful organization of this type of teaching makes an im-
portant contribution to the quality and lasting knowledge of students, motiva-
tion and excitement of students, and plays an important role for the teacher’s
professional development.
