Advantages and Challenges of Mobile Learning
The paper focuses on mobile learning, which is one of the ways information
and communication technology is used in learning and teaching. By using
modern mobile devices and corresponding programmes and applications,
learning and teaching can take place anywhere and anytime. At the same time,
as a consequence of mobile learning development, there is a strong need for
reconceptualization of ICT opportunities in education. In this paper, we first
briefly introduce the use of ICT in education, then we focus on mobile learning,
identifying both, the opportunities and the challenges of such learning. At the
end we highlight that in order to successfully implement mobile learning, the
latter needs to be included in initial teacher education and in programmes of
continuing professional development.
