Razlogi, ki študente predšolske vzgoje vodijo pri izbiri študija in poklica
the results of the research conducted on a sample of 162 preschool education
students from across Slovenia. We found that the most common reasons for
choosing to study preschool education and to become a preschool teacher
stem from self-actualization reasons, followed by altruistic reasons. Addition-
ally, we found that the leading reasons stem from the desire for personal and
professional growth, internal motivation, and personal interest. The rarest rea-
son for choosing a future profession is alternative reasons, such as unsuccessful
schooling in one’s initial aspirations.
