Creative Storytelling and Visual Arts: Cross-Curricular Integration
from Past, Present and Future Perspectives
The main purpose of this paper is to present the results of the action research,
which was carried out in the context of the formal education of educators in
a postgraduate programme at one of the Slovenian faculties. We wanted to
find the different innovative approaches and ways of integrating two artistic
fields (storytelling and visual arts) and to develop concrete solutions to pro-
mote creative storytelling and artistic expression. We have developed theoret-
ical frameworks and research tools, and designed innovative solutions, draw-
ing on the tangible and intangible heritage in the local environment. Based
on the data we collected in the action research, we found that the activities
we planned were new and did not promote established knowledge and be-
liefs, and we will continue to work to spread this example of social innovation
and to share the experience and knowledge we have gained.
