Slovenian national identity. This is influenced by: communication, mainly in
Slovene; activities, that are included intentionally or through a hidden curricu-
lum; and by the fact that the majority of the pupils and students surveyed
have a Slovene national identity. Despite the results confirming the promo-
tion of Slovenian national identity, the study nevertheless shows an openness
towards the Hungarian ethnic community maintaining their national identity
in physical education, and confirms that there is coexistence between the dif-
ferent nationalities in the Prekmurje region.
