Readiness of Youth to Continue their Education after their Stay
                       in Residential Care
In the paper, we first present the situation in the field of involvement of young
people in education, who have the experience of staying in residential care,
regarding which we note that their acquired education is low (completed el-
ementary school or vocational school) and that young people do not receive
enough encouragement to be involved in education. In the empirical part, we
study the readiness of young people who are still in residential care, but whose
departure isapproaching, to continue their education even after leaving it. The
results of the conducted research show that their readiness for further educa-
tion is high, while at the same time it is recognized that there is a need to pro-
vide support for young people to persist in their education, regarding which
we present some proposals for ensuring this in the area of Slovenia.
