Slovenia. Qualitative research included studies and analysis from several dif-
ferent aspects: diagnostic documentation, observations, interviews with the
family, with the adolescent, his educators, etc. The obtained material, based
on the objectives of the research – which are: to determine how interinstitu-
tional integration and multidisciplinary treatment from the perspective of dif-
ferent professions, affects the success of socio-pedagogical treatment of an
individual placed in a residential treatment institution – has enabled the un-
derstanding of the importance of such treatment. The results offer some steps
that can help us in the optimal socio-pedagogical treatment of an individual
placed in a residential treatment institution and defend the thesis that multi-
disciplinary integration of different institutions or experts in the holistic treat-
ment of the placed individual significantly correlates not only with the success
of the treatment in the residential treatment institution and better learning
success in school, but also with a more responsible and active individual who
will be able to better meet the challenges of modern society.
