Involvement in the Process of Lifelong Learning: Motives and Obstacles
of Individuals from Target Groups
In this chapter, we present the employees’ perspective on participation in the
process of lifelong learning (LLL). In qualitative research, we used the method-
ology of a semi-structured interview to cover several areas – the career path
of individuals who occupy positions with a low required level of education,
the challenges they faced in the process of compulsory schooling, the interest
and motivation of employees to participate in LLL programmes, and obsta-
cles they face when considering starting these programmes. The purpose of
